I hope you don't mind but I am going to skip the rest of puppy classes. You have done such a fantastic job with both of us that I don't think we need them. You have completely transformed my confidence around bigger dogs, and she has been such a star that I think your job is done!
You have really given me confidence, which is half the battle I think! My heart doesn't sink when I see a big dog now, I just think oooh this is a chance to practise!
Today we met a husky in the park, and Lottie was a little superstar! She focused on me, and we walked past no problem.

I've just completed the Starter course and the Follow On course with my puppy Luna and absolutely love the methods Dale uses to train, as they are totally positive and reward based. Luna doesn't have much attention span at 8 months old but she managed to concentrate on the exercises in class and thoroughly enjoyed going every week. She got so excited when we put her in the car on Tuesday nights! We did a puppy class before training with Dale and I can't even compare the two. Luna really struggled to pay attention to anything at the other class and we didn't really gain anything from it other than the knowledge that she loves other dogs more than the air she breathes (although sociability isn't a bad thing of course!). However, in the first class with Dale she taught us how to get our dogs' attention and with a lot of practice around distractions Luna is now focused on me a lot more when we're out. Luna is my first dog and I was a bit overwhelmed with the amount of training advice out there, but with Dale's help she is maturing into the perfect companion. I would definitely recommend VIP Dog Training to anyone who wants to get the best out of their dogs and we will definitely be back when Luna is a bit older to further our training." We have now completed the 6 week course (well Poppy did) and I cannot enthuse enough about your calibre of training. Firstly there are always a minimum of 2 girls to assist who are also fab so that every person and their doggie gets one to one attention throughout all the tasks set. The group I went to before had way too many dogs for one trainer and if your face didn’t fit, then you were virtually ignored. Also that person spoke ‘at you’ being quite dictatorial, not with yourself, you just make it feel that we are part of a very large family and that you really do care for the dogs you teach. Dale has given me some great advice over the years to help with our Patterdale Terrier, not been to any of her classes yet but have got our new Beagle booked in to start in a few weeks time. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else having seen some of the results she has achieved with some so called un-trainable dogs!!!"

on our special day as we hate kennels and everyone we know that would normally look
after her for us was there with us to celebrate our special day and couldn't look after

Amca is a Working Cocker Spaniel bitch now aged 7 months - Very pretty - a deep golden colour with blonde touches. She came to live with us in October 2011 as a requested 70th Birthday Present. She was full of beans and had a distinct mind and personality and a determination to do exactly as she pleased. This meant mainly hiding under table and then rushing away whilst you chased her getting increasingly desperate. We (my husband and I) went off to a class with Dale. Love at first sight but a chance for Amca to play around. Dale got her under control - we were thrilled until we came home and there was no behavioural change from Miss A. I called Dale who said let her come to stay for TRAINING - We have not looked back. We still have the odd naughty moment but she does obey and has realised that she has to follow our rules and way of life. She is great fun, loves to charge around at an unbelievable speed, chase balls, go for long walks but always keeping me in sight even when exploring. Settles down in her bed - (we soon abandoned our crate) - plays with her toys - thanks to Dale she gave up chewing cushions and Tea Towels. She is excellent with other dogs - again being thanks to Dale's extended family of 5 dogs!! She is very affectionate and is totally part of our family!" Patrica & Amca, Cocker Spaniel
Chester came to stay with Dale on a two week residential, he had previously done puppy 1 class and passed that with flying colours....rosettes to prove it.The two weeks without him seemed a life time but Dale kept me updated via Face book, and I was pleased with that. I decided on a residential stay for Chester as he is a large breed dog (Bullmastiff) and in my opinion he needed to have a one on one training scheme. I specifically wanted the jumping up and recall addressing as this was a problem for me, if I recalled him from another dog, or from a cyclist he would just look at me and then run off following whatever. Dale also reiterated the leave it command for me and I have to say he is brilliant at that. The jumping up and recall he mastered, but as Dale say’s it is down to me to continue with it as he is still only a pup (1 year old) and he needs the constant reminders to come back to me. We do have the odd slip ups it is not a wonder fix and does need me to keep up the good work Dale has done. We have a seven month old Rhodesian Ridgeback, Efi, and as responsible owners, we wanted to make sure that she became the best and happiest dog she could be with the right food, right training, lots of exercise and of course, lots of love! I first met Dale and Axel by joining one of their social walks. Pups enjoyed playing with the other dogs on the walk (great for their social skills!) and I enjoyed chatting to Dale and Axel about dogs. Then again, I am a huge dog lover and love nothing more than talking about dogs so it was great to meet like minded people!! Between them, they have great knowledge and experience - its good to chat on the walks with Dale offering advice for any problems or just reassuring you that 'it's normal, don't worry!' We then went on to do the beginners training class. Well who knew training could be such fun!! The classes were great and Dales style of teaching makes them enjoyable for all (we go along with our three kids too!!). I love Dales gentle approach to training which not only brings good results, it means the doggies love class too!! Efi loves Dale and Axel, that's apparant by the way she greets them when we arrive at class. We recently went away for a long weekend and efi stayed in Dale and Axels home on a home boarding basis. Perfect solution, home from home with people she loves and Dale always updated me promptly whilst away when I asked how Efi was getting on. We have now signed up for the next block of classes and we are really looking forward to staring them and seeing Efi develop further and gain new skills. "Not many people can train a dog via a phone line and fb but I know Dale is there for me. I got a husky puppy as a first dog but she has been there for me every step of the way.
distance is too great but since finding her on fb her advice and help is great we may never meet in person but what she says works and has helped a cute puppy

Sirius is still shattered after his starring performance at his Tricks class last night! He got a lovely purple rosette, ok its mine really, and a certificate for being a clever boy! ... Siri is still asleep this morning and when I woke him up for a walk, he looked at me like I was crazy and moved to a safer spot where I can't torture him with a walk (????) lol The course was really good fun, great company - always fun learning with other people. We were told to never let our beautiful are husky off lead but ! What a fab trainner Dale is,if any one can train a husky to be off lead & come back it's Dale fab fab fab thanks for all your help highly recommended x"

Just been to the free socialization training workshop in Basingstoke.. Was really good, even though Wibbly is only 5 months he kept a good amount of concentration and managed to pick up the commands within an hour, brilliant!" Abbie wth Wibbly, Chihuahua x pug

Siri enjoys his classroom lessons so much that even though he knows it all we have to continue as he loves Dale and learning new things to ignore. Dale's teaching style is very relaxed and easy to follow, the smaller classes allow for personal attention, Dale works with everyone to achieve all end goals. The homework also helps you continue everything you learn in the classroom and gives you steps to follow every day. It is hard to explain the pleasure I get when walking my Novia Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever who went for a two week stay with Dale last year. To have an energetic dog, such as he, tearing off in our local Country Park, turning on his heels when he hears his recall is our reward. It is even more satifying when other dog owners go out of their way to say 'that is impressive' on seeing his immediate reaction. Although he is an intelligent dog he can be a pickle, trying it on to get away with things he does not wish to do. Training, I realise, does not stop at Dales' dedicated stay. It has to continue to keep him on his toes! "
